The average cost of rent in Canadian cities for June (MAP)

The two kings of Canada’s rental market, Toronto and Vancouver are both seeing monthly decreases, this is quite difficult for Vancouver already due to how Vancouver’s real estate market is currently not in the best shape anyway and has been seeing some year-over-year declines, with COVID-19 happening, it is not beneficial to the market at all.

However, not all cities are receiving a downfall, five cities actually managed to achieve an upwards trajectory. These five cities were Oshawa, Winnipeg, Windsor, Quebec, and St John’s. However 11 headed downward, and 8 remained flat.

With no surprise, Toronto was on top of the most expensive rent in Canada. And of course, Vancouver remained in second. However in Toronto rental prices are dropping, yet in Vancouver, they are remaining the same. (Monthly)

Some other major cities around Canada placed behind Toronto and Vancouver, they were followed by Burnaby, Victoria, and Barrie.

If you were thinking about where the cheapest rent would be located, that would be found in St. John’s Newfoundland, with a one-bedroom costing $860, and two-bedrooms going for $910, however, in St. John's prices are going up, they have been for the past year and they still are not affected by COVID-19, at least not enough to create a drop.
