Padmapper says that the average asking price for two-bedroom apartments rose 3.1 per cent in Vancouver last month to $3,330. This made it the most expensive average rent in Canada. This was followed by Toronto at second with $2,830 then Burnaby with $2,300, Montreal with $1,730 and Ottawa $1,570.

"[T]he PadMapper Canadian Rent Report looks at rental data from thousands of active listings across Canada." Listings are compiled monthly to make a report which ranks the 25 most populated metro areas.
